As a mom, two things that can really make my day is: 1- witnessing my children playing nicely together, and 2- hearing them laugh. The other day I heard Haley laughing insanely and decided to investigate what was making this little girl SOOOOOOO happy.
As a side note, it's not always something good that is making my children laugh (which is why I investigate before I enjoy). A prime example would be Kade's laughter today, which brought me into a flooded bathroom where he had discovered an old piece of pipe. It was shaped in an "L" which was perfect for filling with water and blowing down into.........which proptly shot out a magnificent stream of liquid goodness.....creative....but it still landed all over my bathroom. I think we'll have to save that little adventure for the outdoors. Fortunately for me, Haley's laugh wasn't one of those.
My husband is soooooo great at playing with the kids and since I started to hear his voice near the little laugh, I hoped this meant Haley wasn't getting into mischief. As I rounded the corner, I saw Tovey and Haley on opposite ends of the living room with their pointer fingers intently directed toward eachother. Tovey would give the signal and the two of them would start running. As they got closer to eachother, Haley's laughter would increase. Finally the moment came when their paths crossed and they would jab their fingers into eachother while saying "poke". Yep; they were jousing with their "pokers." It was so stinking funny! I'm so glad my kids have such a fun and goofy dad. He's the one who keeps us all down to earth.
